“Visually appealing, kind-to-the-earth (and ocean) plastic-free, upcyclable packaging, reflecting the same shades, textures and forms found in nature, has been one of the biggest highlights this year ” says Beauty Shortlist Eco Awards founder Fiona Klonarides.
“I’ve loved the “RELOVE” examples like Swedish brand Oquist’s 5-in-1 Balm terracotta clay, tea ceremony-inspired artisan “Cha Dao Bowls” where the container enjoys equal status with what’s inside”.
“And ReMI Beauty’s solid moisturiser “stones” nestled in ceramic keepsake cases are unique and so easy on the eye.”
“It’s a joy to be able to reuse and keep these artisanal containers instead of just throwing away the packaging and adding to the planet’s already unbearable, overweight “plastic trash” burden.”
“These brands are beacons in a disposable, plastic-wrapped world. It’s important to honour them and give them the exposure they deserve.”
