BEAUTY HAS NO AGE

“Beauty has no age because any age is beautiful”

When these words popped into my head in May 2016 or thereabouts I wrote a post about it.

The key of course is ageing well.

Health, love, feeling safe, peace of mind, great friends, close family, things and people to love, those who love you back every bit as much, keeping your sense of wonder strong, listening to your body and respecting it, not caring about others’ negative opinions, staying close to nature, the company of a wonderful dog, the huge importance of simple pleasures, gratitude, equanimity, treasuring the “every days” like a good walk then a cup of tea and maybe a chapter of a good book, planting lemon seeds and watching the little green leaves take shape and grow stronger by the month (I planted one in July 2020 it’s like a miracle), turning flour and cocoa powder into a chocolate cake, whatever floats our boats…(helping others is a good one for the heart).

“When you are well, you are rich”,  I think that’s a saying?

It’s fair to say that “acceptance, gratitude and faith” in the future (faith being the one to help you make it through the down/hard times) carry us well through life.

What’s that quote about friends?

“Friends are angels who lift us up when our wings have forgotten how to fly?” Something like that, it might have come from Jack Canfield originally.

Today after a hectic and quite sleep-deprived week (yesterday I didn’t feel great, tired, because the Mama & Baby and ECO Awards close for entries tonight and it’s always full-on just before the deadline) I’m going to make a tea in my big imperfect comforting stoneware cup and just sit quietly for a while and write in my journal:

Page 1: I am so Thankful and Grateful for…xxx xxx xxx

Page 2: A list of the things I love that make me happy (Nature top of the list 🌱)

This is my 2022 hardcover Diary from Paperblanks, Ireland, The Olive Fairy (embossed in gold and it glitters in the sun ✨☀️) I absolutely love it, I bought a few for friends. It has a similar design on the back. I used to use Moleskines also great but this one feels so much more magical so I think it’s Happy New Paperblanks Diary every year from now on (not an ad!) Just adore it!

Just thinking about the cup of tea and journaling later feels good.

Wishing you a lovely weekend whatever you plan to do and wherever you are xx
