Exclusive Pre-Launch Beauty Shortlist Preview: A look at Bee Good’s NEW Youth Enhancing Range, launching today!
Exciting news for this morning. But first…
Here’s a random question. Have you ever wondered why honeycomb is a 6-sided #ihaveathisthingwithfloors mosaic? Well, there are only three geometrical shapes with equal sides that fit together without any gaps – triangles, squares and hexagons, apparently, and for reasons best known by intelligent bees, they chose the hexagon as their very own “tile shape”. This new range is based on “the power of 6” – as you’ll see below.
British bee-inspired beauty brand Bee Good is launching its new Youth Enhancing range today and we’re laying our cards on the table already on this one, it’s going to be interesting to watch which product emerges as the hero out of three strong launches.
And not only are they all in pump format (this keeps the products “fresher, longer” and avoids bacterial contamination from re-dipping your fingers into a jar), this brand is already a CEW Awards Winner (2015).
This is a super value from an ingredient quality v. price point ratio. Each of the three products comes in around the £20 mark.
The new serum!
£25/30ml, and possibly one of the best value serums on the market right now when you consider this product’s ingredients v. price ratio
This is why we’re excited.
The trio comprises the new:
Plump & Firm Moisturiser
Lift & Brighten Eye Cream
Hydrate, and Smooth & Prime Serum
At the core of this range is bee intelligence – harnessing the “power of 6”, with six “super ingredients” in each new product.
In fact, these new honey, propolis, beeswax and British plant botanicals formulas could not land at a better time as autumn says goodbye to summer – we were wondering when Bee Good would expand their award-winning range and the answer is just in!
One off-the-bat notable attractions of this range, I think, and I know I keep going on about this, is the price point.£23.50 for a 50ml moisturiser with six well chosen, naturally active ingredients is a beauty steal in anyone’s book.
We know Bee Good well, having judged the brand in this March’s awards (they’ve been winning awards since they launched, a notable achievement for such a young British brand to just come in like that and sweep up a nice stash of accolades).
THE NEW TRIO
THE NEW YOUTH ENHANCING PLUMP & FIRM MOISTURISER
£23.50/50ml and Travel Size £9/15ml
Let’s start with a quick snapshot of the new Youth Enhancing Plump & Firm Moisturiser.
The 6 “super ingredients” are:
- Propolis extract – highly concentrated levels of flavonoids and antioxidants to calm skin sensitivity and promote skin health.
- Anti-wrinkle British Wildflower Honey.
- Pepha-tight with algae, to firm and tighten skin with an anti-sag effect.
- Hyaluronic Acid, which retains 1,000 times its weight in water – it’s our modern day hydrating superstar, in so many luxe brand formulas now, HA has shot up in formulas over the last 5 years. It works!
- Blackcurrant Seed Oil, a super-rich Linoleic, alpha Linoleic and GLA source.
- And…Raspberry Seed Oil – a whopping 80%+ source of Vitamin E.
Bee Good have cleverly covered all the bases – this particular moisturiser was designed to do a solid job of strengthening, elasticising, tightening, delivering a radiance boost, and anti-wrinkling, all in one, in the brand new Plump & Firm Moisturiser.
Next up…
Try the travel size first if you fancy taking this eye cream for a test run – £8.
THE YOUTH ENHANCING LIFT & BRIGHTEN EYE CREAM
Next up – Bee Good’s new Youth Enhancing Lift & Brighten Eye Cream which comes in under £20 (£19.75/15ml). Plus a nice surprise (travel and try-me size fans!), as there’s also a TRAVEL SIZE of this new Eye Cream for £8 (5ml) for those of you wanting to take it for a test run first.
Here are the six actives that make up the new Lift & Brighten Eye Cream:
Note No. 6, British Echium Oil from that little bright blue flower which is a genus of borage (starflower), rich in the main omegas and often a lifesaver if your skin is eczema-prone
THE YOUTH ENHANCING HYDRATE, SMOOTH & PRIME SERUM
Bee Good’s new Serum’s 6 key ingredients are:
Note the Matrixyl 3000 (which is even better than Matrixyl alone) on the label here. This often appears in luxe, high priced, high performance products. Science-formulated Matrixyl was designed to boost collagen production to keep skin elasticized (when you see a person with leathery skin, e.g. from too many Lanzarote holidays and not enough SPF or time in the shade, this life-sucked-out-of-it leathery effect is the result of collagen breakdown).
Side note: A 2013 University of Reading study by professors found that Maxtrixyl 3000 can almost double the amount of protein collagen needed to promote skin’s elasticity.
Essential fatty acid-rich Camelina is another healer, protector, nourisher and elasticizer, which will help boost suppleness.
There isn’t a travel size Serum like the moisturiser and eye cream, but I do think the price point is fantastic.
So there you have it! Not a single bee pun so far, despite the excitement.
This range is going to fly off shelves. Watch this space because the CEW Award for Bee Good’s brand overall earlier this year is a sure sign of more accolades to come. (Bee Good also won Beauty Shortlist Awards in March).
I’m just curious to watch and see which of the new Youth Enhancing trio will emerge as the overall hero product. It’s a tough call actually.
In the meantime, these two new travel sizes (the Eye Cream and the Moisturiser) to try out on your next long weekend which are part of the new trio that lands today are five reasons to bee cheerful about British skincare this autumn. (OK I think I am going to predict the Serum for future hero because I really love the ingredients and definitely because of the Matrixyl 3000!). The sixth reason is the price.
