MAKE PERFUME NOT WAR

Never has the world needed a mantra like MAKE PERFUME NOT WAR, more…and never have we needed brands like The 7 Virtues more, the fragrant brainchild of Canadian entrepreneur Barb Stegemann.

The 7 Virtues sources natural essential oils from war torn and economically devastated zones  – including rose petals from Afghanistan for Noble Rose of Afghanistan, a sultry blend of deep rose, clove, peppercorn and carnation….vetiver for Vetiver of Haiti, from farmers in Haiti which was  devastated by earthquakes in 2010…and now the newest eau de parfum, Patchouli of Rwanda, launches this month to coincide with INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY on 21 SEPTEMBER).

to your AW14/15 scent shortlist”

The four original scents are all beautiful (we haven’t had a chance to try the new Patchouli yet) – they’re EDP’s not wishy-washy EDTs, made with real, natural fruit and flower essential oils and interestingly you can create your own PEACE fragrance by blending them if you buy the special 4-fragrance gift box.

Our favourite for autumn? Noble Rose of Afghanistan.  No dewy, delicate scent of English roses on a summer morning here, this is a deep, velvety concoction spiced with pepper, clove and carnation, piquant and a true original and it works for both day and night.  If you’re a rose fragrance fan, head over to Selfridges in Oxford Street next time you’re in London – or on your lunch hour if you work or live nearby – and try it, it’s an intriguing, original twist, a very “full bodied” exotic rose.
