“Soapsmith” (noun) – ‘one that forges and shapes soap with care and passion’
We’re currently having a love affair with Soapsmith, and we love Soapsmith’s love affair with London!
Based in East London in our own cool capital, Soapsmith is single-handedly reviving the art of artisan soap making, in addition to a fine line of bath and body luxuries at refreshingly affordable prices, to boot.
Each Soapsmith signature scent is inspired by a part of the city, from Limehouse (scent notes: Lime, Lemongrass and Litsea Cubeba, also known as May Chang and deeply lemony) to Lavender Hill (Lavender with a hint of Jasmine).
Our favourite? Green Park. It’s a minty, leafy, thick wake-up bar of peppermint paradise deliciousness with a touch of cedarwood, tailor made for summer showers.
And here’s a clincher – these soaps really retain their scent, unlike those soaps you often find lurking in guest bathrooms which have “gone off”. Which might explain why Soapsmith has already been snapped up by Harrods, Fenwicks and Selfridges in a ridiculously short space of time.
Soapsmith do bath soaks, body lotions, body butter melts and body washes too (quick aside – the body wash was one of the most hydrating we’ve tested and that’s no mean feat) so we’ll be reviewing more of the range in August.
