142 beauty brands entered the Beauty Shortlist Awards this year (the winners will revealed March 15) and one of the stand-outs was Blend Collective. A team of top aromatherapists – and “blenders” as Blend calls them – is behind this British brand, founded by Clive Walker who trained with the legendary aromatherapy expert Robert Tisserand.
Blend Collective’s tagline is “Truly Natural Bodycare” and unlike so many brands greenwashing their way into the natural beauty industry (i.e. pretending to be green when they’re not), this brand’s product labels make our hearts sing (so does the packaging.)
All of the judges in our Awards tried the Unwinding Concentrated Hand Cream with Sandalwood, Frankincense, Cedarwood and Neroli and I’ve personally been using it constantly for a few weeks and think it’s wonderful stuff. It sits comfortably in the “intensive hand cream” category and although the scent isn’t specifically feminine (it would be a good unisex hand cream), you get a really soothing, grounding aromatherapy hit (there’s Lavender in there too). My hands and nails have been loving the Aloe, Shea Butter, Beeswax, Cocoa Butter and Sea Buckthorn formula. And if you’re as texture-phobic as I am, it’s not sticky or greasy and won’t make your hands slide off the steering wheel on the school run – or stick to it! The fluid cream formula quickly sinks in.
There are so many delicious natural ingredients – including Cedarwood Atlas Bark Oil and Clary Sage – that the ingredients list takes up almost the entire space on the back of the tube so you’re paying for a lovely long list of good things.
A collective round of applause for a brand that never tests on animals, is 99% natural, uses 100% pure essential oils and absolutely NO naughty stuff
