What does a great green beauty brand look like?
Handmade in Suffolk since 1987, and developed by mother and daughter team Abi and Margaret Weeds, Essential Care’s skincare is Soil Association certified, a multi award-winner, and they’ve just spent 3 years developing the UK’s first organic and natural makeup range.
I was scouting around for a new concealer in August and coincidentally their Natural Mineral Concealer had just launched. Well, bonjour! I tried the medium shade and it’s sheer genius (and it’s not too sheer – it actually covers things up.) Bye bye dark circles, hello seamless blending. As for the texture, another nice surprise, it’s gentle, silky smooth and not remotely “cakey” and it outclasses most of the big brand liquid concealers I’ve tested. What’s in it? Virgin coconut oil, sea buckthorn (full of omega 7, great for skin) and soothing calendula and the short, sweet and clean list of ingredients is on the website.
Moving on to Essential Care’s skincare range, it’s so pure that it’s one of the brands I always recommend to anyone post-radiotherapy or to friends who have ultra-sensitive skin, and their baby range is beautiful, too. You can forget about reading the label with Essential Care and that’s one of the things I really love about them.

PS: There’s a good interview here on Latest in Beauty with Abi from Essential Care and I wanted to give a quick shout out this week to Saffron Organics who also stock Essential Care and have been posting some great winter skin and health tips on their blog, spotted on Twitter.
