Any fellow Fossil fans reading this? Fossil styles get discontinued so these days a Maddox Convertible Flapover Bag is a pretty rare sighting online. So when I found one last week on sale, no less, at Connaught Online I bought it in a moment of impulse. (£79, was £115). I’m obsessed with having “pouches” for things like passports, mobile phones, keys, etc. and this bag’s large enough for a paperback and daily essentials and small enough to avoid embarrassing ‘foraging’ with a long queue behind you at Tesco Express.
And speaking of ‘new’, here are a few new finds this week which you might know or like? L to R:
ZING ORGANICS Solid Organic Parfum – comes in various precious scents and their candles are gorgeous too! Kirsty who founded Zing is wonderful, and we’ll be featuring their candles next month (earmark for Christmas!) (Here’s her story)
BLUE LABELLE 100% Natural Botanical Facial Oil – this is a steal at £14/50ml. Founder Pascale makes her skincare on the Isle of Wight and this oil contains Vitamins A, B, E and Omega 3,6,9, minerals and proteins. It’s full of beautiful oils – peach, rosehip, carrot seed, frankincense, and evening primrose which skin just loves.
AMIE PURE & NATURAL BEAUTY Daily Moisturiser SPF15 Once in a while a product arrives in the office which takes us by surprise – this is one of them. Sunflower extracts, Kakadu Plum, Blueberry and UVA/UVB protection are in this non-whitening, lovely smelling facial lotion. It’s another steal at £5.95 for 75ml from award-winning British brand Amie, and no wonder beauty editors are raving about it. Light, comfortable facial SPFs are big news this summer, they just keep getting better and better.
LAVERA BODY SPA Organic Lemon Fresh Shower and Bath Gel £6.45/150ml. Mmm! Natural essential oils (orange, lemon and lime and a hint of peppermint) are in this gentle, fresh-as-a-Mediterranean-summer morning shower gel. Their Lavender range is beautiful, too.
THERAPIE Restore Aura Spray (£24/100ml but the mini size is in the pic). Voted one of the top 25 aromatherapists in the world by Vogue, Michelle Roques O’Neil needs no introduction and the recent launch of her Therapie range was big news. Her Himalayan Detox Salts will make you sleep like a baby who’s just had a massage (review coming soon). All I can say to Michelle is “Thank You” because her balancing, energising, emotionally comforting spray kept me sane after my landlord announced he was doubling my rent for the Olympics and I had to find somewhere else. The Therapie range goes beyond “ingredients” (which are lovely – the spray has rose, frankincense, rosemary, sage, spearmint in it) – because there’s a special energy and alchemy at work. Which is why Roques O’Neil products do work. And how beautiful is her website? www.roquesoneil.com (Gift alert! The Discovery Kit)
PAI Fragonia & Sea Buckthorn Intense Hand Therapy. I love Pai and I love Organic, Natural, Gorgeous (ONG). They carry a handpicked selection of brands – A’kin, Badger Balm, BM Beauty, Evolve and Green People among them. You get Free Delivery and 10% off and they seem to have some sales going on at the moment. Anyway, if your hands are remotely dry or you have niggly little dry patches or dermatitis, try this. Unusual ingredient Fragonia is anti-inflammatory while Sea Buckthorn is an orange berry that grows along the UK coastline and is loaded with Omega 7 so it’s a god-send for skin. This butter-coloured cream is beautifully skin-calming, it’s a keeper.
